With a marathon everyone always talks about mile 26. Mile 26 is all the rave because it is where the race completes and where the awards are given. I will never deny, on any level, that running 26 miles isn't a remarkable accomplishment.
And at the same time, I want you to consider that if you are at mile 1, 2 or 3 they are
the most critical miles in the race, because without them mile 26 will never happen.
The beginning and middle is essential to the end.
In life I highly recommend having goals and dreams about the results you want to accomplish. Have a vision of the end. But remember that the mile you are on is the
most important mile.
Let me repeat that because it is critical to your success... the mile you are on is the most important mile. Because if you don't make it past this mile you have no chance
on making it to mile 26.
Stop discounting miles 1, 2, and 3. Or 6, 7 and 8. Or where ever you are in the race.
You need to concentrate and put all your efforts to where you are in the race no matter the mile marker.
If you make every effort to be present and appreciate the mile/moment, you are more likely to succeed. And the truth is, it will make the race, the journey, so much more fun.
